Isaiah 40:26 says, "Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things.
When we look upward instead of downward all things take on a new meaning wouldn't you say? When I get my eyes off of my circumstances and begin to look beyond what I see directly in front of me life seems to take on a new perspective.
I just got back from a very nice trip to Mexico (a friend of mine invited me) no cost! those are the best ones right? Anyway, hearing the sound of the mighty ocean and watching the waves roll in at just the right time everyday without change, the clear blue skies, warm weather etc. now I am making all of you wishing you had gone as well.
Well, it was wonderful. But more than that, I shifted from what was going on back home to just taking in the beauty of that pretty place in the midst of God's glorious creation (going from looking downward to looking upward). All of life suddenly became so small compared to the wonders that was set before me.
God's creation as wonderful as it is,is only mean't to draw us upward to God Himself. In every wind that blows, in every night and day of the year, in every sign of the sky, in every blossoming and in every withering of the earth, there is still a wonderous God who longs to open our eyes to just imagine the possibilities of who He is and how much He loves us.
Everytime we have a sad or bad day and life seems overwhelming lets purpose to take our eyes off of our circumstances and look upward to the unseem. there lies our peace and refuge.
So, let's rise up and turn our eyes upward so that all that is pulling us down will disappear into the loving arms of God.
