Let us not forget!

  "

Where does the time go, it seems just like yesterday that we were ushering in 2012, now it is 2013. It does not seem possible does it? I am reminded of what Paul tells us in Philippians, chapter 1 verse 4, he says, he remembers the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ jesus.

What do we see in this passage that we need to be reminded of? first of all, "he has not forgotten the saving power of Jesus Christ in his life, His faithfulness to Paul from the first day of knowing Him personally until present day. Secondly, he trusts the Lord to complete what He has begun in his life. He knows full well it is not because of what he does or how hard he tries that will accomplish all that Christ has for him to do. He knows full well it is not because of his strength or even diesire to complete the task.

We must remember, that it is not what we do even though there is importance and responsibility in the things we do, but rather, it is in our trust and faith in our lord jesus to complete all that he has begun in us. we must remember we are called according to his plans and purposes Ephesians 1:18-22. therefore, that which our Lord has begun in us He will continue until that day when we see Him face for face.

So, if you feel weary and defeated today, be encouraged, we have a loving father in heaven who is more than capable of taking care of us. let our weariness press us closer to God not away from Him. rest in him, he will compete in us what He has begun. We are not all at the same place in life but for each of us there is a beginning and a completion.

Remember back to the times when we didn't know what we would do without God's help. He was there then and He is there now. May your new year with new wonderful possibilities be filled with peace and rest.

love, Dee
