climbing to the top!

Title...Climbing To The Top

The journey for the Child of God is one of “continual traveling”. We were never meant to stay in one place, but to always be ready at any given time to go where the Lord tells us to go and to do whatever he tells us to do.

Such was the case for Abraham…Sometime later God tested Abraham. He said to him, Abraham”! “Here I am.” He replied. Then God said, take your son ,Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about. Genesis 22:1-2

What were some of the steps here that Abraham had to climb? Step 1. Abraham was called by God, and Abraham needed to respond. Step 2.  God told him what he wanted him to do (take your son, your only son whom you love). Step 3. Take your son to the region of Moriah. Step 4. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains.

When we read this, the first thing that comes to our mind, is that surely God would not tell us to do such a thing. He would not ask us to give up the very thing that he has promised us.

But that was exactly what God was asking Abraham to do, was the unthinkable, sacrificing his only son. Abraham’s journey to the top of the mountain was a faith test for Abraham. A test to see if Abraham (we) will believe what God says, even when it makes no sense to us.

Abraham believed that God would provide even though his circumstances would say different and God did provide just at the right time.

Ask yourself this question, am I following the voice of God and willing to do and go anywhere he asks me to? If your answer is yes, then your mountain climbing experiences will be fruitful and life changing. Enjoy the climb!

Have a Great Week Everyone
