Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5
Good Morning Everyone
Thank you for reading these blogs (Dee’s Thoughts) and I appreciate your responses back to me. This morning I was reminded of my first upcoming new granddaughter that should arrive sometime in the first week of January. I cannot tell you how excited I am awaiting her arrival. Her name is Alyssa Gale Johnston. I find myself praying for her all the time and this morning I came across this Scripture. This will be our focus for today.
This Scripture given to Jeremiah is also relevant to all of us today. “I knew you before you were born”, “I set you apart” and “I have appointed you.” What a promise this verse is to us as it tells us just how important and valued we are by God. So valued and loved that His handy work in our lives begins in the very early stages of the womb. Doesn’t it make you wonder how excited God must have been at the very conception of each and every one of us?
“I knew you.” What a beautiful thing for God to say to his children! “I loved you and cared for you in eternity past. I made a personal commitment to you even before you were born.” And what a beautiful thing for parents to say to their children: “God knows you, God loves you, and God has entered into a personal relationship with you.” There is nothing more important in life than knowing that we are loved, that our life matters!
We do not choose God, He chooses us! Perhaps you are still trying to figure out what God’s plan is for you. The main question for many is…”Why am I here” “What is my purpose”? The first thing to do is to settle this question in your heart…I know I am here because God wants me to be here and he has a plan for my life.
Agree with God that he does have a plan for your life. Then do those things that you know you are to do as unto God and just walk and keep walking. He will reveal His plan to you as you obey and walk in what you know to do at the time.
Ask God to reveal his will to you for your life. If you ask, he has promised to answer. “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5).
In closing, I just want to encourage all of us. God’s timing is perfect in all things, he is never too late or too early he is always right on time. For those who are struggling with situations that seem too big and wonder where God is, take comfort he is closer than you think and he loves you and knows your circumstances. He will answer!
