Is Life To Hard?

Good Morning Everyone, thank you for joining me this morning. Thank you for your comments on these blogs I so appreciate them. This morning I am reminded of just how hard life can be and how easily we can get discouraged. There are many obstacles that get in our way, finances, health, loss and so on. Any one of these can take a toll on us emotionally, physically and spiritually. I want us to look at some passages in Deuteronomy today in light of our title…”Is Life To Hard”? let’s get started:

Let’s set the stage:  Moses is given the command to leave Horeb with all the Israelites. God speaks to them in Chapter 1:6 saying, The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “you have stayed long enough at this mountain.”  He tells them to break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites.

This verse hits home to us today in regard to our own life circumstances and struggles. How long have we stayed at the foot of our mountain? Do we need to move forward as well? It is easier at times to stay in one place longer than we should because it begins to feel safe and secure where we are.

I am not speaking of location necessarily although that may apply. When we stay in one place for too long we become stagnant, lethargic and un-motivated  . Is God speaking to us today about facing our own fears of what may lie beyond the borders of our own territory? Are they holding us back?

Verse 30 says, The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place. WOW!

There it is..When we decide to leave the foot of our mountain and follow God regardless of how scary that may feel, He promises to go before us and fight for us. He makes a way where we cannot see the way and open the pathway for us to march ahead with confidence knowing He is fighting for us.

Nothing is impossible for our God let us say, “I will leave my mountain and follow you”.

Blessings, Dee
