Are We Full Of Sap?

The trees of the Lord are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. Psalm 104:16

Good morning everyone,

Thank you for your comments on this blog and weekly messages, it is encouraging to hear from you and it so blesses my heart. This morning we are going to examine the life of a Christian as we are “the trees of the Lord” and see how well planted we are?

I once heard that in the wood, bark, and even the cones of the cedar there is an abundance of resin. What is resin? It is a solid or semisolid organic substance exuded from various plants and trees that is used in varnishes and lacquers.

The trees are so saturated with it that you can scarcely touch one of the cedars of Lebanon without having the turpentine or resin of them get on your hands. This is also true in the life of a healthy Christian; God’s Grace is externally manifested in their life. . When the inner life of a Christian is right with God, “it saturates everything” it cannot help it!

When you talk with a person who is overflowing in the life of Jesus, they cannot kept from talking about it; you go into their house, and you will soon see that a Christian lives there; you notice their actions and you will soon recognize that Jesus is there. They are so full of sap that the sap is leaking out everywhere. There is so much of the divine life within them that the holy oil and divine balsam must flow out.

I am sorry to say though that this not always the norm. Why? Because when we take our eyes off of God and become too dependent on man, and not enough on Him the sap within begins to dry up. But, the Lord wants us to desire this sap of which there is a multiple supply and to be full to overflowing in abundance.

Oh, when I think what glory a full-grown Christian brings to God, what honor the faith of a believer puts upon Jesus, when I think about what knowledge and maturity a believer possesses, what joy and peace of mind, I could wish that every one of you would be God’s Cedars of Lebanon growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The Inner spiritual life can only be seen through outward deeds. What a joy it is when truth in the soul overflows to such an extent that it fills a Christian’s life full of overflowing sap. Don't let it run dry!

 Blessings, Dee
