It is held weekly on mondays at emmanuel fellowship church. you are welcome to come at any time. every week is a new topic. please join us from 9:30-11:30 i would love to see you.

We have all had days when we feel like life is hard. Times when everything seems overwhelming and so difficult. There are the good times and then there are hard times. In these times of difficultity everything feels hopeless but it is not! Learning to live in difficult times is a challenge, but we don't have to go through those times alone or try and get through them in our own strength. This is our topic for the day:

But you are a shield around me, O Lord, you bestow glory on me and lift up my head. Psalm 3:3.

Life is hard and filled with good days and bad days. We cannot escape it! Sometimes we try but life is filled with the unexpected. Sometimes we feel like our days are filled more with heartache, sadness, loneliness and grief, instead of peace, contentment and joy. We all desire peace and joy but it is not something we can manufacture at any given moment. So how do we find this peace and inner joy and where does it come?

When the weight of life is pulling us down and we want to give up what do we do? Who do we look to for help? I lift up my eyes to the hills---where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip---he who watches over you will not slumber. Psalm 121:1-3

Psalm 113:7-8 …He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes, with the praises of their people.  Not only is God the ‘lifter ’ of our head, but he also puts a shield around me. Psalm 28:7 says, The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

When all our efforts fail and we don’t know where to turn, God is there! When our strength is gone and we feel like giving up, God is there! We will find God and He will come to us when we call on Him. Amazing isn’t it, that we have to be at the end of our rope with all our own efforts being exhausted before we cry out to God to rescue us.

God does not want us to just call on Him when we are in crisis, but rather, know him in a personal way, knowing that whether it is a good or bad day, he is with me and he will rescue me. We can all have that kind of relationship with God, His Word tells us so. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14.  Keep your eyes looking up to the lifter of your head. He will not forget you if you call on His Name.

Be lifted up today!

Blessings, Dee
