Good morning Everyone, thank you for joining me this morning (Dee's Thoughts). I love your comments keep them coming. We all have struggles in life don't we? We cannot escape the troubles of life they are always going to be there but we can walk through them and not let them dictate who we are in the midst of them. Determination is key in walking through difficult times. Our thought for the day:
All of us have faced difficulties in life and we know it is not easy to walk through them. The question to be asked is…how Determined are we to keep pressing on regardless of our circumstances? When our vision and purpose appears to be growing dimmer, determination and steadfastness must kick in to keep us going in the midst of doubt and uncertainty.
The storms of life....There's a story of a woman who became the victim of amnesia. For three months she wandered, but during a severe thunderstorm she suddenly remembered who she was and where she was from. A Cleveland, Ohio, police officer said that the storm jolted her memory back. How often the storms of life bring us back to our senses!
God allows us to go through them, not to destroy us but to help us. How does that work? Many of us can identify with this and have experienced our own personal storms. When a storm is raging it is difficult to see things clearly, but after the storm passes, when all has settled down that is when we can see the hand of God at work. It is the storms of life that praise and thanksgiving is birthed.
It is in those times that we are more apt to look to God for help and when we do He is right there to help us through those times. It is sad in many ways that we need a storm to put our focus on God. In good times we seem to not need Him as much and go about our businness without even thinking of Him./ I always am are changed an enlightened. God is always looking for ways for us to seek Him out because he wants to have relationship with us. Jeremiah 29:13 says, You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. i will be found by you declares the Lord, and will bring you back from captivity. Then Hebrews 11:6 says, And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
(A story from F.B. Myer), some young bees are nurtured to ensure their healthy development. The queen lays each egg in a 6-sided cell which is filled with enough pollen and honey to feed upon until it reaches a certain stage of maturity. The top is then sealed with a capsule of wax. When the occupant has exhausted its supply of nourishment, the time has come for the tiny creature to be released from its confinement.
But what a wrestling, tussling, and straining it endures to get through that wax seal. The opening is so narrow that in the agony of exit, the bee rubs off the membrane that encases its wings. Thus, when it finally does emerge, it is able to fly! The man telling F.B. Meyer this story said that one time a moth got into the hive and devoured the wax capsules. As a result, the young bees crawled out without any effort or trouble, but they couldn't fly. Soon the mature insects, seeing the pitiful, unproductive state of new arrivals, instinctively proceeded to sting them to death.
What does this story tell us? The application is this.... "Are you congratulating yourself on having an easy time in life with no hardships or difficulties to bear? Then beware, lest you lose your `wing power' like the handicapped bees, and perish miserably in the dust of defeat."
Determination is the inner fortitude and strength of character – being disciplined to remain consistent, strong and diligent regardless of the odds or the demands put on us. It is the act of deciding to be steadfast and firm until an answer comes. Determination is an act of faith when we temporarily lose sight of where we are going. Stay focused and strong in the journey, the best is yet to come!
