“The Status Quo”

Good Afternoon Everyone, thank you for joining me and drop me a note I love hearing from you. just a reminder, we have begun our new "AWAKEN CLASSES" for this year. We started on Monday the 16th but cancelled because of the weather. We will launch this coming monday on the 23rd @ Emmanuel Fellowship room 102-103.  Our first class is called "BROKEN CONNECTIONS" (8 weeks) please come in at any time I would love to see you. For more information you can go to our website @reachingthebroken.org. Our word for the day is"THE STATUS QUO".

When we were at Mount Sinai, the Lord our God said to us, ‘You have stayed at this mountain long enough. It is time to break camp and move on. Deuteronomy 1:6

The’ Status Quo” what does that mean? The status quo is a state of being a condition of the way things are now. This is always how it has been done. I am sure you have heard this term; “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! This is our topic for today –‘The Status Quo’.

I love this Scripture in Deuteronomy, “you have stayed at this mountain long enough. It is time to break camp and move on. Most of like the status quo, we are comfortable there because we know what to expect no surprises! But there is another side to it, there are no challenges, growth, maturity just the “status Quo”.

I am no different than anyone else, I also like to be comfortable but being comfortable is not good me or you. But how does God look at our ease and comfortable state? When we have stayed in one place to long we lose vision, purpose and direction. God wants us to leave our camp of ease and move onto new things. New things are challenging and trying but when we are challenged we are forced in a good way to press ahead.  God’s Word tells us without vision we perish (to perish is to be destroyed or ruined physically or spiritually or both). Proverbs 29:18

So let us all leave our mountain of ease and embrace new challenges as we draw closer to Jesus. I for one do not want to become stagnate and I don’t think you do either. Let us press ahead with joy and excitement.

 Blessings, Dee
