Digging Deep

"The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst .But I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs." Isaiah 41:17-18

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to ‘Dee’s Thoughts’. We have all at one time or another found ourselves feeling like’ we have nothing more to give’. I am sure you have found yourself in that season at some point or perhaps you are feeling that way right now.

When I was young and living on the farm, our parents had to dig a well in order to have water. In fact, there were 2 wells, one for us and one for the livestock. Water was a necessity, without it there would be no provisions. We were dependent on well water for our personal existence, and the rain from heaven for the crops to grow.

Water is life, without it we die. This is also true of not just our human state, but also our spiritual state. Our thirst for water and need for water is also true spiritually. Matthew 5:6 says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

To find water we have to dig deep, the deeper we go the fresher the water. For most all of us we have times of dryness where our hearts and souls are parched and in need of fresh water, or it may be we are going through a loss or grief and our hearts are in need of refreshment. For others they may have never experienced God’s love and peace in their lives and need a touch from Him.

The Lord promises us that he will turn our deserts into pools of water and our parched ground into springs of living water that brings new life. Ask and you will receive from God but ask we must! We cannot wish and it into existence or just wait and see what will happen…ASK AND RECEIVE it is that simple.

 Be Refreshed, Blessings Dee
