The Power of Kindness

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to 'Dee's Thoughts.' Thank you for your responses back I love hearing from you. This morning I am reminded of how far a 'kind word' goes. The power ofjust being kind to one another. Do you know it takes more energy to speak harsh words than it does to say a kind word?

Kindness, what is it? We know of it, hear of it, but how do we show it? Being kind, here is the meaning of it. Taken from the American Dictionary Of The English Language it says; it is that disposition which delights in contributing to the happiness of others, which is exercised cheerfully in gratifying their wishes, supplying their wants or alleviating their distresses.

Kindness always expresses Love! Contributing to the happiness of others, which means we play a role and have an obligation to those around us to try and help them reach their goals and comfort them when they are in distress. Charity, hospitality and focused attention to the wants and desires of others are deemed as acts of kindness.

‘We cannot love without kindness and we cannot be kind unless we love’. Forgiving one another covers a multitude of sins. Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. Micah 7:18-19. May we forgive and show kindness to others as God forgives and shows kindness towards us.  Reach out to someone today who needs a kind word or encouragement you will more blessed than they are.

Have a wonderful day, Dee
