Good Morning everyone and welcome to Dee’s Thought’s. Thank you for reading these blogs and please shoot me a line whenever you can I love hearing from you.
I know there are times when we have all felt alone even when we have others around us. Ever feel that way? I think all of us have at one point or another. We find ourselves in a dark place and wonder why do I feel so lost --God where are you?
When we allow circumstances to be the indicator of whether Christ is with us, we may start panicking when the sea starts getting rough. Mark described an incident like that in chapter 4 of his gospel. We know the story of the disciples crossing the Sea of Galilee with Jesus and, tired from a day of teaching, He fell asleep. As the sea became rougher and rougher (like out circumstances), the men began to panic, just like us! They wake up Jesus and said, “Teacher, don’t you care that we are going to drown?
In verse 35, we see where the disciples missed what he had said to them, which was, “let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” (together) He didn’t say “let’s get halfway across and drown”. Jesus knew they would survive the stormy sea.
When times are rough we can easily lose sight of the promises of God and doubt that He is with us. The Christian life is a lot like that boat ride. Christ has told us where we are going, but sometimes in the midst of the journey we don’t feel His presence and we can only see the over-whelming storms.
If you are in a storm right now and have lost sight that Jesus is with you, don’t panic! He is still in the boat with you, He promises to never leave us or forsake us. He will get you to the other side. Storms come and go but remember, He is in the storm!
