Waiting on the green light

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to Dee’s Thought’s. love hearing    from you, thank you for your comments. Waiting is something we all struggle with at times right? We have a busy day with lots of things we need to do and not enough time to do them. Nothing can be more frustrating than long lines of traffic creeping slowly from one light to another.

We see the green light ahead and think I will make this one, then it’s orange and before you know it is Red. Oh no, now I have to wait again before I get another green light!  This is the life we live in these days always waiting for the green light that never seems to come fast enough.

This also applies to our spiritual life! When we find ourselves at a crossroad, we are wise to wait until we get a green light before we move ahead. But it is tempting to run ahead of God isn’t it? Sometimes God just seems to be taking too long to get back to us!

Whenever I have tried to move ahead of God’s perfect timing, I’ve always ended up regretting it. When there is no clear green light, God wants us to wait. David, the man after God’s own heart encouraged us to be patient. “Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, wait, I say, on the Lord!” Psalm 27:14

Only God knows the road that lies ahead. So when we are not sure what to do, let’s choose to wait on the lord in faith and do nothing. As J.I. Packer wrote, “When action is needed, light will come.”  Let’s look at the red lights as a means of testing our patience to wait on the Lord.

All is well, Blessings, Dee
