Keep your eyes on the path

Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil. proverbs 5:25-27

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to “Dee’s Thoughts”. I have been on many road trips as I am sure you have. But there have been times when I was very confident I was heading in the right direction only to find out that I wasn’t, and needed to change the course I was taking. We all make mistakes and I have been grateful for those times of re-correcting the path I was on or I would not have reached the destination I was heading for. Or at least, not in a timely fashion! This applies to life situations but let’s look at it from a spiritual perspective as well..

So how do we get off track at times? We may think we are on the right path, then one day we find ourselves asking the question ”what am I doing”  “where am I going”? That which I was so sure of now doesn’t feel right anymore.

Where did I take a wrong turn? Have I become discouraged and tired? Is this path I am on taking me in a different path that I was originally sure I was to take?  It may be some of these reasons or none of them, but the truth is I am not sure now if I am  on the right me path anymore. Well, perhaps we need to ask ourselves this question…Is the path I am on my idea or God’s?

God promises to level out our paths (removing all obstacles) that would cause us to stumble or take a different path other than the one we are on. He does this because He wants us to succeed and reach our destination. Being confident of this, he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6.

It doesn’t hurt to re-evaluate our path from time to time this is healthy. To worry is another story. Worry is just a reminder asking us “have we forgotten who is really in control”? Make sure your path is God’s and not yours this is key in keeping us focused on the future and not the past. So, if we have gotten off course, don’t worry---be confident of this, that the Lord knows about it and He will get you back on the right path. How do we know this? Because he says so!

Blessings and Peace, Dee
