Morning Everyone and welcome to Dee’s thought’s. I pray today is a time of rejoicing in this new Season of Springtime. It is good to see flowers coming up and the sound of birds chirping in the morning. Do you sometimes find yourself thinking back to the past at times. I do! Sometimes there are good memories and sometimes not so good. Just how healthy is it ——”looking at the past”?
Remember the days of old; consider the generations long past. Ask your father and he will tell you, your elders, and they will explain to you. Deuteronomy 32:7
There is nothing wrong in looking back to the past, but overall it is not healthy nor does it benefit us to stay there for too long. Isaiah 43: 18-19 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? When we keep looking back to the past we fail to see the new things that are happening right in front of us. Two key words—-Dwell and New. We can’t dwell and still experience something new at the same time..
WOW! A new thing! We can all use a new thing right? You see, we will cling to the old things because they are familiar and safe. We may want the ‘new thing’ but don’t want to let go of the past safe things in our life to have the new. Deep down we know we have to make a choice if we are to move forward in our life If we find ourselves feeling stagnant and not going anywhere in our life Spiritually or Emotionally perhaps we have to consider a new direction. What could happen? Maybe nothing, but just possibly something New and more rewarding. .
The past is meant to teach us and move us forward into the future. Romans 15:4 says, For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Let everyday be a New Day not a Old Day. Embrace every day as a prized Jewel. love like you have never loved, give liked you have never give. Stay the course, keep moving forward and watch for the “next new thing in your life”. Have a wonderful day.
